Start asking “WHY”

I recently watched a video called How I stay confident with body hair!  which was posted by YouTuber RawAlignment who posts videos about her raw vegan lifestyle, weight lifting, and living in Hawaii.

The video is linked above and I will also have it linked down below as well but in this video she (Alyse) talks about how she doesn’t shave her armpits and how she stays confident flaunting it!

What really intringed me about this video is something Alyse started talking about around 6 minutes, “I just invite you to question why you do the things you do”. Alyse continues to go on saying, “I love to do this in every aspect of my life. Questioning why I’m wearing this necklace, why am I wearing jewelry at all?”

Aylse also says, “Just literally question everything that you do and ask yourself like is this a norm that I have just started going along with because it’s what I’ve seen all my life or is it something that makes you feel good, is it something that contributes positivily to your life”. And that sentence specifically just spoke to me and immeditaley lit a light inside my mind.

It’s so easy to go through your day to day routine without even stopping and thinking about what it is your actually doing, and WHY you’re doing it in the first place. I think Aylse’s “challenge” to start questioning everything you do is a really cool concept to think about. If you start doing this with things you do every single day and find there are things that are unnecessary you can clean up your life and make room for thinks that truly make you happy and make you feel good.

Media is such a huge part of our society these days and I sometimes think people use it as an excuse as to why they do things, why they think things, ect.  The first example of this that comes to my mind is women and the beauty industry. And the “idea” of what pretty is supposed to be or what pretty is supposed to look like. Do you actually like wearing a full face of makeup or do you feel like your have to because your supposed to? Do you like styling your hair that way or is it just a popular trend?

If you begin to question things from all aspects of your life you can find what you actually enjoy doing and what you don’t, and then you can change the things you don’t like!

I think once you find the things you do enjoy doing, things that make you feel good, and make you happy you will start to have a lot more purpose added to your life instead of just going through the motions.

I’m going to invite you as well to say WHY! “Why am I doing this and does it positively benefit me?” Even if you do this for even just 1 week I think you will find out a lot about yourself.
