Wow, I don’t even know where to start. Where to begin? Paris has held a very special place in my heart for years now.
The first time I visited Paris was with my family and my bestfriend, Tal. It was the summer of 2011 and it was the summer after my freshman year in highschool.
I fell in love with Paris that summer. Tal and I wanted to ensure our kids would be able to experience that same thing we did so we made a pact (half serious, half joking). We agreed that our kids would too have to be 15, so we would have to get pregnant at the same time. Our pact was that when one of us got pregnant we would just call the other one up and say, “Bitch get pregnant”. We even got matching tattoos 3.5 year later of the Eiffel Tower on our ankles.
That tattoo is what sparked conversation between Andrew and I the first time we ever met. I walked into his shoe store looking for new running shoes. Andrew had just gotten back from his first backpacking trip aboard to Eruope, which included Paris, just a few weeks prior. He noticed my tattoo and we started chatting it up. There was an inital draw (at least for me). I thought this guy was the bees knees. Obviously that converstion was good enough to land us a date and the rest is history!
From that first day, that first conversation Paris was a part of our relationship. It was this far out dream that one day we would make it back to Paris, together. A city we both loved so dearly.
Andrew is ALWAYS randomly looking for different flight prices all around the world. In July when Andrew found tickets to Paris for a STEAL I didn’t think twice and immedialy shouted, “BUY THEM. JUST BUY THEM NOW AND WE’LL FIGURE OUT THE REST LATER.” And we did.
And that’s how we made our way to Paris this year.
We just did it. We found the tickets, booked the trip, and didn’t look back.
Tune in later this week, I will be sharing a little bit about our time in Paris. What we did, where we ate, and what we did! And how this Paris adventure was a real life dream with my lover boy. #livingmyhappiestlife
