Hi! Welcome to Be the Sunshine! My name is Marisa and I’m just an average 22 year old gal trying to make my way through this crazy life.
The short & sweet:
I currently living in San Antonio, Texas. I constantly have the itch to go somewhere new. I’m a lover of carbs, Christmas, sunsets, sunflowers, and my ripped jean jacket. Also the ocean. Also my Winnie the Pooh teddy bear. Also my dog & my boyfriend & my family. Also I’m indecisive. The only thing I know for sure; there is power in positivity & I want to spread that message everywhere.
The long (but still sweet):
For as long as I can remember I’ve never felt like I quite “fit in” any where. Never felt completely secure in who I was or what I wanted. I’ve never know what I wanted to do when I “grew up” (and at 22 years old, I still don’t) but I’ve always had a strong sense of what didn’t want to do. That left me in limbo. As my senior year of high school rolled around with no clue of what my plans for post graduation would be I went back and forth between college and the military. For a couple of months I was dead set on college. I applied to a couple of schools in Texas and even retook the SAT. But I knew deep down college wasn’t for me and it wasn’t where I wanted to be. Sort of on a whim my bestfriend and I decided to join the Air Force. I turned 18 in February of 2014, graduation high school on May 31, 2014 and left for basic training on August 19, 2014. Everything that’s happened in my life since then has been a result of that sole decision.
I have always loved writing; english and language arts were always my favorite subjects in school (actually they were the only subjects I liked). I have always been very good at bullshiting my way through papers. One time I wrote an entire paper over the life of somebody’s autobiography that I didn’t even read. I didn’t really do much writing on my own after graduation. But my mom bought me a journal in February of 2015 while I was at tech school for the Air Force. I picked up writing just a little bit, but nothing heavy. I eventually began to write more and more. I came to a strange realization about how much I enjoy typing so I figured a blog would be the perfect fit for me! At last came to life; Be the Sunshinee (formally known as The Brunette Blogger).
I love to promote happiness and positivity. That’s where my passion lies. That’s where I find purpose.
Here you can find posts about my everyday life, things I’ve learned, things I’ve experienced, and everything in between.
